Paternity tests are difficult subjects for many families. When a petition for determination of paternity (paternity test) is filed it is often the result of distrust between the mother and father of the child. Upon the finding of the court regarding the paternity test there is often a need for determination of child support provided the paternity test proves the father of the child to be one of the parties involved.
Due to media and talk show themes, paternity testing has become more prevalent in the courts. Paternity tests should not be ventured into without prior consideration for the effects they may cause. Not only may the mother of the child (if she is not the one asking for the test) find your petition to be an insult, but family members are often enraged by such doubt.
